Draughts, also known as checkers, is a captivating strategy board game designed for two players. The objective of the game is to strategically move uniform game pieces diagonally and capture opponent's pieces by jumping over them.

In a game of draughts (or checkers), two opponents sit on opposite sides of the gameboard. One player controls the dark pieces, while the other handles the light ones. Turns are taken alternately, and it is prohibited to move the opponent's piece. A valid move involves moving a piece diagonally to an adjacent unoccupied square. If the adjacent square contains an opponent's piece and the square immediately beyond it is vacant, the player can capture the piece by jumping over it and removing it from the game.

During gameplay, only the dark squares of the checkered board come into play. A piece can only move diagonally into an unoccupied square. Most official rules enforce mandatory capturing, although some variations provide an option for capturing when available. In nearly all variants, the game is won by the player who either captures all of their opponent's pieces or blocks their opponent from making any further moves.

Dr. Checkers adheres to the American checkers rule set, ensuring a standardized and fair gameplay experience.
